The Intensive Care Unit of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, was established in 1994, National Clinical Key Specialty, Beijing Municipal Clinical Key Specialty, National Health Commission Capacity Building and Continuing Education Neurocritical Care Advanced Training and Training Base. There are 71 beds and more than 4,000 inpatients per year. There are 30 doctors, including 1 professor, 6 chief physician, 4 associate professor, 5 associate chief physicians, 11 attending physicians, 8 residents. Professor Guangzhi Shi, the head of the department, is a doctoral supervisor. The department features resuscitation treatment of neurological patients and related research in conjunction with the characteristics of Beijing Tiantan Hospital. It has made achievements in monitoring the consciousness state of intensive care patients, the metabolism of cerebral blood flow, treatment of infection in critically ill neurological patients, and metabolic monitoring of antibacterial drugs.
